We used brown onions, but you could try using red onions instead. Get creative and add your own combinations of ingredients on these crisp tarts.

You will have a thick layer of onions on the tarts, this will reduce down after baking in the oven.

We tried a bit of everything, the onion and tomato was great so we tried ham and tomato and the kids had ham and cheese. Fab idea

Such a quick and easy dish. Can be used as a lunch time snack with salad but i had it as my evening meal with sweet potato fries. I can honestly say it wasnt disappointing. Was lush and will definitely be making them again to go on a buffet.

Fantastic so easy to make and yummy. The blend of rich onions and tangy cheese on a base of buttery pastry. Tomatoes add an extra dimension of sweetness. Yummy eaten cold and fabulous for picnic season. Easily adapted to be gluten free. Thanks PoN.
