In reply to Steph. Hey Steph, cooking apples are best for pies and crumbles as they are tart and have a firmer flesh that doesn't break down as much when cooked. Eating apples are a lot sweeter so if you use those instead you may find you need to add less sugar or sweetener to the pie. Hope that helps!

Does it have to be cooking apples or can i use any apples? Is there a reason it asks for cooking apples?
