In reply to Sam. Hi Sam, we've used cream cheese in this recipe as it makes a rich creamy sauce that will stand up to freezing and reheating well.Using quark won't give the same results. Hope this helps.

I decided to leave out the croutons to reduce my daily carbs. Next time I might do a spin on it and add some onions and mushrooms.
